The Lyon Young Film Festival is launching a short film call for its third edition, which will take place from Friday 14 to Saturday 29 September 2018.
The Lyon Young Film Festival is a unique event in France, which allows all young people under 28 to present their audiovisual productions in a real competition, also organized by the youth.
The call for entries will be officially launched on May 16, take advantage of an exclusive invitation to send us your short film until August 27, 2018.
To participate, you need to:
- Be aged 28 at most at the application time
- Submit a short film of 25 minutes maximum
- Read the festival regulation
- Fill out the registration form online
- Pay the participatory amount of 2 euros

We are proud to invite you to Film Festivals Days 2018 – European Film Festivals Conference that will, for the first time in history, gather leading people of European film festivals, along with filmmakers from all branches of film industry. This event has a mission to contribute to development of all those subjects that associate their professional work with this indispensable branch of the film industry.
Film Festivals Days will raise many new questions and encourage the application of many innovative solutions by providing opportunity for exchange of ideas and important business networking. The mission of the conference is to bring together most of almost 1,500 film festivals in Europe, members of their artistic and executive boards and all the professionals who work in this sector and give them a platform to connect, identify and reflect on the current trends and challenges European and world film festivals are facing today.
Creativity, financing, branding, audience development, new technologies ... from the smallest, to the well-established festivals, they all share some common challenges in the process of organising and producing a film festival. By sharing experience with each other, sharing a common understanding of the trends and projections of the future, we will create a new environment in which all the actors in the film industry will have space for their professional growth and development.
Representatives of film festivals, producers, executive directors, film education workers and students, marketing managers, communication specialists, representatives of EU funding bodies, cities, media, companies closely cooperating with film festivals - you are all welcome to join us at this central gathering event of the great family of European film festivals.
Film Festivals Days will be held in Zagreb, 20-21 November, 2018, and the number of accredited places is limited.

We welcome papers and alternative presentations from PhD students, researchers (within animation but also beyond), filmmakers and other practitioners, who use animation (in its most expanded form = manipulated image) as part of their methodology, their way of trying to understand the world.
Proposals, responding to the theme of MAKING SENSE: Between Fantasy and Fact (as outlined above), should be for either:
- A 20 minute conference paper
- An alternative discussion/presentation format as appropriate for practice-based research (this can include practice based work in a form of short films, images etc.).

The 2018 Sir Peter Ustinov Television Scriptwriting Award Competition is Now Open
Each year, the Foundation of the International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences presents the Sir Peter Ustinov Television Scriptwriting Award. The competition is designed to motivate novice non-US writers under the age of 30 and offer them the recognition and encouragement that might lead to a successful career in television scriptwriting. The 2018 competition is now officially open!

The winning scriptwriter will be flown to New York City and presented with a $2,500USD prize at the International Emmy® World Television Festival on November 17, 2018. The winning script will be read by actors in front of an audience at the Festival, and the winner will be invited to take part in the red carpet festivities at the 46th International Emmy® Awards on Monday, November, 19.
The deadline for submissions is July 3, 2018, at 12noon E.S.T.
