We are pleased to announce that we've extended the deadline for submitting films to NFFTY 2017 -- from January 30 to February 7 - 11:59pm PST. Submissions will officially close afterwards. We hope this gives your students a little extra time to put the finishing touches on their films before they submit. Entry fees will go up after January 30.
As a reminder, three or more films submitted by educators are eligible for a 20% discount. Please respond to this email to request a discount code.

The PrimeFish competition will be receiving short fims until the 5th February 2017. Anyone over 18 years old can participate with a short film on seafood consumption. The selected title will receive a 1,500 € prize and the opportunity to film a video for a research project.
How to participate
Individuals and groups up to 3 people can participate with a video of any genre or format (animation, stop-motion, documentary, fiction…) uploaded to YouTube. They just have to send the link of the video to competition@primefish.eu together with the name, surname, address and contact details of all team members. The deadline for all submissions is February 5th 2017 at 08:59:59 AM CET.
Prize
The creators of the best video will be awarded with 1,500 euros and a paid trip to the Costa Dorada (Spain) to film a second video about the PrimeFish project. It will be a learning and networking experience, side by side with the scientists involved in an innovative H2020 project.
Take into account
All videos must include the screenshot available in the link http://primefish.eu/sites/default/files/screenshot_primefish_0.jpg, which should remain visible for 2 seconds. Films in languages other than English must include subtitles in English.
Award criteria
The PrimeFish project is looking for relevant, attractive and creative videos. And social media impact and gender issues will also be taken into account.

TARIQ ANWAR EDITING WORKSHOP:
We are offering a 25% Early Bird Discount until the 1st of February
This will be an absolutely unique opportunity to develop your skills in Editing with one of the most revered editors in activity. You will have an educational experience of excellence in a small and intimate group of only 25 participants maximum, with no less than Oscar-nominated editor Tariq Anwar, who edited films such as "American Beauty", "The King's Speech" and "Revolutionary Road".
This 2 days intensive workshop is strictly limited to 25 participants maximum: we advise to register fast to guarantee your place. The workshop fee is 499€, but with the 25% Early Bird Discount until the 1st of February, you can secure your seat for only 375€. The workshop will take place in Porto, Portugal, at the beginning of Spring 2017 (20-21 May).

Call for Entry for PerSo - Perugia Social Film Festival - Third Edition is available online. The Festival will take place in the capital of Umbria from Saturday 23rd until Sunday 1st October 2017. O Prémio Curtas tem como objetivo distinguir autores de Curtas-Metragens que abordem o tema “Esclerose Múltipla”.
Por se tratar de uma doença que tem grande impacto na qualidade de vida dos doentes, pretende-se divulgar e sensibilizar a sociedade para a temática da esclerose múltipla, estimulando estudantes nas áreas do cinema e do audiovisual, ou amadores com o gosto pela área cinematográfica, para a criação de curtas-metragens (ficção, documentário, animação) que possam retratar como é viver com esclerose múltipla, focando aspetos da patologia e desenvolvendo curtas-metragens que possam promover um melhor conhecimento sobre a esclerose múltipla.
As candidaturas estão abertas até dia 28 de Abril de 2017.
